The 2016 awards are sponsored by funeralbooker, the modern, easy way to find a great funeral director.
The Good Funeral Awards reward the unsung heroes of the funeral industry and enable bereaved people to say thank you for being there when we needed you.
They are organised using the industry knowledge of The Good Funeral Guide, the leading consumer organisation and information resource for the bereaved, and are brought to you this year through the generous support of our main sponsor Funeralbooker and the companies who have kindly sponsored individual categories, listed below.
If you would like to nominate someone for an award please do so by contacting [email protected] and telling us why.
We will then contact that person and invite them to enter officially for the award.
Winners will receive:
-Recognition of their achievement throughout the funeral industry
-Publicity, press and media attention
-A certificate and a bespoke trophy
-The opportunity to say a few words to the assembled guests
-A photo opportunity with the celebrity host
-A logo to be used on your website
-This year we’re making a number of changes to the way that businesses and individuals are nominated because last year we were overwhelmed with submissions, which took many hours to wade through.
We have introduced a small entry fee for most categories to cover the time it takes to go through the nominations.
We’re starting the process by creating a ‘Long List’.
If you are an individual working within funeralworld, you are eligible to enter for any category that you think suitable. (If you can get a client or supplier to sing your praises and nominate you first, that’s great, but don’t wait too long..!)
The judges will read all entries. They will then draw up a ‘Long List’ which will be published in August. The ‘Short List’ of finalists will have their names read out on the day.
Nominations will be invited in the following categories:
