What it Means to Win a Good Funeral Award
23 May, 2016
Last year, A R Adams won the award of Funeral Director of the Year. Donna Adams (far right) explains what happened next:
“As a fifth generation family company, to hear our name called out as Funeral Director of the year was an absolute honour. It gave us a real sense of achievement; personally I hoped that our ancestors would’ve been proud of their decendants. The awards night was a great opportunity to share in the whole profession’s successes.
Professionally, bringing the title home enabled us to share the company’s achievements with the local community. The news of our award spread on Facebook with over 300 comments and 15,000 views. We were overwhelmed with congratulatory comments and words of support from families we’ve served. It was gratifying and humbling to see how many people the A.R.Adams team has helped, a real morale boost for everyone here.
You can’t accept an award like this without acknowledging the work of everyone involved – an extra opportunity to show all staff how their hard work and dedication is appreciated.
Mingling at the awards ceremony with both traditional funeral directors and newer companies opened our eyes to the variation in services offered. It was a great opportunity to be refreshed about what new services are on offer
We’re sponsoring the category this year because we thoroughly enjoyed the whole awards experience, we benefited from participating and we’d like to pass on that baton to somebody equally good and deserving.”
