The Lemon Table Lunch
19 August, 2013
Broadcaster and Guardian obituarist, Michael Freedland, will host the ‘Lemon Table Lunch’ at the Cottonwood Hotel, from 12-2pm on Sunday 8 September 2013, as part of the Bournemouth Good Funeral Awards weekend.
The lemon is an emblem of death for the Chinese. Julian Barnes wrote a short story about how Sibelius used to attend a ‘Lemon Table’ where it was ‘permissable – indeed obligatory – to talk about death.’
Mr Freedland will be talking about ‘Hollywood Funerals’.
Any members of the public who would like to join the lunch can buy a ticket for £15.
