The Good Funeral Awards

Sia Furler

12 April, 2011

Six Feet Under doesn’t have to just be a series, it can be a lifestyle. You can search out the books they mention, and then there is the soundtrack to swot up on.

That can lead you to all kinds of artists, tracks and bands. Thomas Newman created the opening music and much of the sound backdrop. Richard Marvin created the atmosphere at many pivotal moments. The finale was amazing, but what helped to make it was Sia’s Breathe Me. Sia is a perfect artist for a SFU fan: her intense melancholic lyrics sung in a fragile and vulnerable style. Searching Sia’s Wikipedia entry I’ve discovered she’s not been well. I hope she gets better soon. Maybe one year we’ll get her to play at the convention. Meanwhile, here is another one of her amazing tracks.
